One of these characters is the silent protagonist. About 5 new important characters, though there are many other ones that don't have larger roles. It has the same cast as before, with small additions to the roster. Xillia 2 tries to have these good things, and it fixes Elympios by setting most of the main story in it. Not enough time is spent in Elympios, so there isn't enough time to really build on the place. The only problem is how the game gets cut short when you arrive in Elympios, the futuristic society that has destroyed it's environment and will eventually destroy themselves. Special mention to the villains, who all feel like they have their own very good reasons for doing what they do, and I wouldn't blame anyone for siding with them. It has the best cast of characters out of any game I've played and it has an above average plot with EXCELLENT pacing. I'll start with how good the first game was, and why. massive spoilers for Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 incoming Where to begin. Unfortunately, the 40 hours before that were awful, and I want to talk about them alongside everything else. After Chapter 12 out of 16 the game gets off it's ass and starts having an interesting plot. This game did have its faults, but the characters and story made it so enjoyable and I will most definitely play it again.ħ0% PlayStation 3This game the slowest start out of any game I've ever played. It's a beautiful, yet heartbreaking scene that I will never forget. The animation was so perfect for that scene because you could see and feel Ludger's heart shatter when Julius starts to hum the Hymn of Proof before transforming to kill him. From the moment that Julius realized what was happening to when Ludger takes his brother's life is so emotionally devastating. The scene, however, after Ludger chooses to fight and kill Julius to create the soul bridge to save Elle made cry. Even though Julius is slowly dying and will eventually turn into a divergence catalyst, Ludger can't bring himself to be the one to kill Julius and is willing to turn against everyone for him. The Bad End is actually my favorite ending because of how far Ludger is willing to go to protect Julius, his big brother and closest family member. It's darker than the other Tales games I have played and that's what makes it so good. A lot of people don't like it as much or at all, but I do.

80% PlayStation 3**SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION** Tales of Xillia 2 is my absolute favorite Tales game in the series.
